The Pella Planning and Zoning Commission has directed city
staff to draft an ordinance amendment that could loosen
restrictions on wind turbines. That's according to Pella
Planning and Zoning Director George Wesselfhoft. He says
the consensus of the commission was to have staff draft
language that would allow for wind turbines in areas of
the community besides those zoned agricultural while
differentiating between sizes of turbines.
