A Knoxville cross-country coach remembers the glowing character and positive influence of Aplington-Parkersburg head football coach Ed Thomas, who was killed earlier this week. Mike Moats, members of the Knoxville Cross Country Team, and other residents raised over $6,000 in a 127-mile marathon fundraiser last year for Parkersburg, after the city was devastated by a tornado. Moats says during that time he had a lot of interaction with Thomas, who Moats says was an example of good character and values. Moats adds that thoughts and prayers are with the people affected by the tragic shooting in Parkersburg this week.
