Local police departments are reminding drivers to pay extra attention with the amount of youth activities that take place during the summer months. Pella Police Chief Michael Marcinkowski says many of the parks and fields are used for summer sports and advises drivers to use caution in those areas. Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada says it’s also important for pedestrians to be careful by using sidewalks and walking against traffic if a sidewalk isn’t available.
