Area residents are continuing to do well in contests and competitions judged at the Iowa State Fair. Stephen Bennett of Pella claimed top honors in two categories for woodcarving, Linda Schminke of Otley won a blue ribbon for her peanut butter cookies, and a Rhubarb Wine made by Fred Rietveld of Pella was a winner in one of the non-grape wine classes. The Iowa State Fair continues through Sunday in Des Moines.
