The Knoxville Division of the VA Central Iowa Health Care System is hosting a celebration and cookout Thursday, entitled “Celebrating the Past and Looking to the Future”. Area veterans, volunteers and the general public is invited to the event, which will feature guest speakers, video and pictures of the Knoxville VA Campus, entertainment, and more. Food will be served from 2 to 7 p.m. with musical entertainment from 3 to 5 p.m. A VA spokeswoman says the event is a chance to pay tribute to the contributions of the community, veterans and VA employees who served or have been served by the Knoxville VA over the past 60 years.
