New students start moving in at Central College this weekend as part of the school’s “Welcome Week.” JoNes VanHecke, Dean of Students at Central, tells KNIA/KRLS news that first-year students will be treated to the annual “Dinner on Us” meal on Sunday, in which new students dine at the home of faculty and staff, or friends of the college. The program in its current form is in its tenth year, but the tradition extends back to the early 80s. The majority of the students not already on campus will move in on Monday. Classes at Central start on Wednesday.
