Though expectations will remain the same, this will be a rebuilding year for the Central College men’s soccer team. After finishing second last season to Loras, which went on to reach the NCAA Division III Final Four, The Dutch return just one senior and must replace five starters. One of the positions to be filled by Coach Garry Laidlaw is goalkeeper, and junior Quincy Garner of Pella is expected to be one of the candidates to contest for the starting job in front of the net. That decision, as well as the decisions on filling the other starting vacancies, will have to be made fairly quickly as Central opens up the 2009 men’s soccer season at home against Grinnell on September 1st.
