The public is invited to attend the grand opening of the new observation deck at Lake Red Rock next week. The new structure is made of brick and stone, and was constructed in the same location as the previous wooden observation deck. Jamie Gyolai with the Army Corps of Engineers says the new observation deck would not have been possible without the support of the Red Rock Lake Association, Pella Convention and Visitors Bureau, Dutch Meadows Landscaping, Pella Concrete Contractors, The Pella Wal-Mart and the Iowa Living Roadways Trust Fund. The grand opening will be next Tuesday, August 18th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lake Red Rock Visitor Center, just south of the dam.
