A sprint car driver suffered what appeared to be a non-race related medical emergency last night at the Knoxville Raceway. Wayne Redmond of Fort Dodge had just finished the 350 A-Main when his car careened into the pits and stuck the parked sprint car of Rager Phillips. Observers says Redmond convulsed them slumped in the cockpit. Track safety crew members pulled Redmond from his car and he was transported to Knoxville Hospital and Clinics. No other injuries were reported and Redmond’s condition is unknown at this time. KNIA/KRLS will have more information when it becomes official.
