A non-confirmed case of the H1N1 virus has been reported at Central College. Abby Gonzales with Marketing and Media Relations at Central tells KNIA/KRLS News the student has been sent home to recover from the illness, while a sample has been sent off to be tested for confirmation of the H1N1 virus.

Kim Dorn, Public Health Director for Marion County says it will take multiple days to receive test results. She adds that both the H1N1 and regular flu strains are expected to make their rounds this fall; and that the best way to stay healthy is for residents to cover their coughs, frequently wash their hands, and stay home when sick, among other preventative measures.
