The City of Knoxville is now taking applications for qualified bow hunters to participate in an urban deer management program. City Manager Dick Schrad says the program will focus on the Westridge area, where deer have been reported as problematic by residents. Schrad says the deer season starts in mid-September, and applications and rules can be picked up at the Knoxville Police Department. Last year 15 deer were harvested as a result of the program.
