The Knoxville City Council held a public hearing and approved the contract adoption for the 2009 East Competine Reconstruction project Tuesday. The low-bid of $139,541.45 from Blommers Construction in Pella was accepted will be funded by Local-Option Sales Tax, and was well below the engineer’s estimated cost of over $240,000. The project includes the reconstruction of Competine Street from Attica Road west to the private cul-de-sac.
