Area residents who heat their homes with liquid propane will likely see a bit of a savings on their bills this winter. Scott Bensink, Manager of the Petroleum Department at Two Rivers Cooperative in Pella says LP rates have remained stable going into the fall, and are expected to be cheaper than last year. Bensink says rates will likely increase as cold weather moves in, but overall there should be noticeable savings from last winter’s prices. Two Rivers Cooperative does offer a program that allows customers to lock in their rates for liquid propane ahead of time, but the deadline to sign up came last month.
