Around one hundred interested residents attended an informational meeting Thursday night at Hilltop Manor on the future of elder care in Pella. Pella Regional Health Center CEO Bob Kroeze announced to the audience the hospital’s intentions to transfer operations of Jefferson Place, Fair Haven and the Pella Manor to WesleyLife – an elder care agency centered in Johnston – effective January 1st 2010. Kroeze and a representative of WesleyLife fielded several questions from those in attendance, who seemed receptive to the plans for the future involving Pella’s elder care services. All current hospital employees in the facilities that WesleyLife will acquire have been assured they will keep their jobs and maintain the same level of pay. Plans are for all long-term care beds currently overseen by Pella Regional Health Center to be operated by WesleyLife as well.
