Funeral services for Fred Curtis Lane, aged 62, of Chariton will be geld on November 5, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. The service will take place at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. Interment will be in the Chariton Cemetery. The American Legion will provide burial honors at the cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home. Memorials maybe be made to the Church of the Nazarene in Chariton, Pierschbacher Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Condolences may be left for the family at www.pierschbacherfuneralhome.com.

Pella Christian players gather to celebrate after match point of the Regional Semifinal against Clarke
The Pella Christian volleyball team battled their way through a tough Clarke team last night to advance to the Regional Finals, but it took all five games to get there.

People wait in line outside of the Pella High School to receive H1N1 vaccinations
A line for an H1N1 vaccinations Saturday in Pella began forming at 6:00 a.m. and stretched out to well over 100 people by 9:30 a.m. for a clinic that did not open until 10:00.
