The musical Annie opens Thursday night at Pella Christian High School. The fall production is directed by Marlo Van Peursem, who says the casting of several theatre veterans in the lead roles has him excited about the performances.

“Annie is being played by Nicole Vande Zande and Daddy Warbucks is Chess Van Wyk,” said Van Peursem. “Grace Farrell, the efficient secretary is played by Kristi Van Wyk, and Miss Hannigan – that cruel orphanage director – is played by Sara Van Gorp.”

Van Peursem adds that several components of the production will make Pella Christian’s performance of the well-known musical even more enjoyable for the audience.

“We like to do a lot of different special effects, so you’re going to see sets that rotate on wheels, fabulous costumes, the lighting is pretty cool, and the choreography is just unbelievable.”

Annie will be performed Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. in the Vermeer Auditorium at Pella Christian High School. Tickets can be purchased at the high school office and are six dollars for adults and four dollars for children.
