KNIA/KRLS hosted the first of two special edition news magazines Tuesday night as the Breast Cancer “Save a Life” Radiothon was broadcast live from in front of Pella Regional Health Center. Around half dozen survivors joined host Dr. Bob Leonard and shared their stories and told of how mammograms and self exams saved their lives. Also, medical staff at Pella Regional provided information and advice.

Thursday night, the Knoxville Hospital and Clinics will host a second radiothon from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. to continue to promote breast cancer awareness. Marion County Public Health has also partnered with both hospitals and KNIA/KRLS to sponsor the broadcasts of the special news magazine.
