Central College dominated every aspect of Saturday’s football game with Cornell, as the Dutch blew out the Rams 55-0.  Central’s offense racked up 525 yards of total offense, including 340 yards rushing, while the defense held Cornell to a measly 86 yards of total offense.

Central running back David Zachary was over the 100-yard rushing mark in the first quarter and finished with 119 yards on 20 carries as Central cruised to a 31-0 lead in the first half.  Through the air, a total of four quarterbacks got in on the action for the Dutch, completing 14 of 25 passes for 185 yards.

Defensively, the Dutch sacked the Rams’ quarterback five times and recovered three fumbles, while holding the Cornell to just two yards rushing.  Defensive tackle Shane Wong extended his conference-leading sack total to 11 by adding three more on Saturday, while fellow defensive lineman Aaron Steenhoek added another sack, but suffered a second-quarter injury and did not return.  His playing status is uncertain.

The tenth-ranked Dutch are now 5-0, including three wins in the Iowa Conference and travel to Indianola next to face Simpson.
