Four of the five candidates running for election to the Pella City Council were present at Tuesday night’s forum presented by KNIA/KRLS and the Pella Chamber of Commerce; including two of the three candidates vying for the at-large seat. Incumbent Councilman Mark De Jong was unable to attend, but had fellow Councilman Tony Bokhoven read opening and closing statements on his behalf.

Present candidates for the at-large seat were Daniel Spotten and David Vander Horst, along with Ward 1 incumbent Dan Vander Beek and Ward 3 incumbent Bruce Schiebout. The Candidates answered questions on the city’s infrastructure, water source, a new airport and promoting business growth, among other topics.

Tuesday’s special edition news magazine with Pella’s City Council candidates is available on demand at www.kniakrls.com by clicking “Radio Plus” on the right side of the page. A similar forum introducing Knoxville’s City Council candidates will be held Thursday. City Council elections are November 3rd.
