Over 50 people attended a special KNIA/KRLS forum which introduced Knoxville’s City Council and mayoral candidates earlier this week. The special edition news magazine allowed residents to learn more about mayoral candidates Don Zoutte and Marty Duffy, and city council candidates Elsie Kemp, David Roozeboom, Brian Shimek, Tina Vande Kamp, Lori Beary, Carolyn Formanek, Larry Steele and April Verwers. Submitted questions and questions from the audience asked the candidates their views on upcoming city budget cuts, what they would do to promote the city of Knoxville, the transition of the Knoxville VA campus, and having traffic lights in the downtown, among other issues. The Knoxville City Council candidate forum and special edition news magazine was held on the second floor of the Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum, and was broadcasted live on KNIA/KRLS.
