National Fire Prevention Week runs through Saturday, and the Knoxville Fire Department is having fire safety events in the community. That’s according to Knoxville Fire Department Captain Barry Reynolds. He says crews will be visiting around 600 kids in the community from pre-school to third grade, covering how to best get out of a house on fire, dialing 911, how to “stop drop and roll” if in contact with flames, and where to meet when outside a burning home, among other tips. Reynolds stresses that parents need to go over fire safety plans with kids and practice other fire-safety tips year round.
