A 26-year-old Knoxville resident was charged with intent to make over five grams of methamphetamine Friday. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office reports Donald Aaron Zoutte Jr. was arrested after officers saw him allegedly steal anhydrous ammonia, a key meth ingredient, from the Smith Fertilizer plant in Pleasantville, and then throw a plastic container containing the anhydrous from his car. Officers with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the South Central Iowa Drug Task Force also charged Zoutte Jr. with possession of anhydrous ammonia as a precursor. The case remains under investigation.
