Schools in Marion County have continued to see students staying home from the flu, but there hasn’t been a second spike in the number of absences. With some districts above 10% earlier this week in students staying home, area superintendents will tell KNIA/KRLS first when they have significant change in numbers. Although around 10% in school absences is common this time of year, health officials are encouraging all residents to always cover their cough, wash their hands, and stay home when sick.
