Pella Christian Defense Continues to Stifle Opposition

Pella Christian’s win last Friday night moved the Eagles to 4-0 in District 6, and puts them in a strong position to defend their district title. The Eagles can credit the play of their defense over the past three games for much of that success. After giving up 86 points in the first three games, Pella Christian has held their opponents to an average of ten points per game in the past three, including a near shut-out of Nodaway Valley last Friday.
“They [Nodaway Valley] scored 27 points on Mount Ayr the week before, so we knew they could score points,” said Eagles’ coach Rich Kacmarynski, “so that was a real feather in our cap to basically shut ‘em out.”
Pella Christian did not give up a score until late in the game last Friday, after several of the Eagles’ starters had come out of the game. Up next for Pella Christian is a home game against I-35 on Friday night.
