Pella resident Debbie Kissinger successfully completed her “Run to Remember” on Sunday, finishing the Des Moines Marathon in four hours and fifty-eight minutes. Kissinger ran with the names of loved ones, including three of her own family members, in her pocket to honor their memory and raise money for hospice care.

Kissinger will be accepting donations for her “Run to Remember” through November 18th. To donate, she can be contacted at the Hospice of Central Iowa Office in Knoxville or click here to visit her website.

Debbie Kissinger was one of nine Pella residents to run the 26.2 mile course. The race also featured three runners from Knoxville, four from Monroe and one from Melcher-Dallas, among other area communities. Nearly 1400 runners participated.
