The 2009 Stepping Stones Stroll was held Saturday in Knoxville. Several local runners participated and Timothy Shepherd, who has finished well at several cross country races for Knoxville this fall was the fast male entry with a time of 19 minutes and 22 seconds. The fast female was Linda Adams of Oskaloosa with a time of 22 minutes flat. Winning the male 21-to-30 age group was Lee Sandmeier of Knoxville, the male 31-to-40 group was won by Jason Maasdam of Knoxville, the men 41-to-50 group was won by Mike Benner of Knoxville, and Knoxville’s Andrew Hazer won the male 51-to-60 age group. Female under four group was won by Riley Faust of Knoxville, Amber Norris took the title home in the female 21-to-30 group, female 31-to-40 winner was Rhoni Barnes of Cedar Rapids, and the female 41-to-50 group winner was Linda Adams of Oskaloosa. The Stepping Stones Stroll is a fundraiser for the Stepping Stones Early Learning Center in Knoxville.
