Two separate performances will make Wednesday a very musical day at Central College. At noon, Sue Odem, an adjunct instructor of music at Central will perform the semester’s first “Notes @ Noon” concert in the Cox-Snow Recital Hall; which is a free concert that is open to the public. Odem is an oboist and a member of the Des Moines Symphony and several other Iowa chamber ensembles. She and other guest musicians will perform works by Hindemith, Mozart and Bach, among others.

Then in the evening, Central’s Red and Blue Vocal Combos will perform another free concert at 8:00 p.m., also in Cox-Snow Recital Hall. Songs from the pop, rock, and jazz genres will be sung by students in both combos, which are under the direction of associate professor of music Gabriel Espinosa. Tickets are required for the event though, and can be obtained at no cost at the Information Booth in the Maytag Student Center by calling 628-9000.
