Gary Vermeer, a Pella native and founder of the Vermeer Corporation was posthumously awarded the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award at the 10th Annual Iowa Venture Capital and Entrepreneur Conference last week. The award was presented by the Iowa Department of Economic Development in Des Moines on Tuesday. Gary Vermeer passed away last February.
