The Central College Men’s basketball team is off to a 2-1 start in 2009, and has been potent offensively to start the year. The Dutch have scored 79, 84, and 104 points – in that order – so far, and Head Coach Mike Boschee says the offensive output is the result of an improved team and an adjustment in gameplay.

“We are trying to run it a little bit more this year, or run it a little bit harder to try to get some easy opportunities early,” Boschee says. “If that translates into more points, we’re fine with that, but I do think we’re a better offensive team this year than we were a year ago.”

Boschee adds that those points may be harder to come by once Central gets into the Iowa Conference portion of their schedule. Up next for the Dutch are a pair of non-conference home games this week before starting the Iowa Conference slate in early December.
