Despite a furious second-half rally, Central College’s football season came to an end Saturday afternoon, as Mary Hardin-Baylor held off the Dutch 42-40. Central trailed by 21 points late in the third quarter and came within a two-point conversion of tying the game, but were unable to snatch away the win from the Cru.

Central’s potent ground game was held to just 103 yards, while Mary Hardin-Baylor rolled up 327 yards rushing, as part of 452 yards of total offense, compaired to 409 for the Dutch. Central finishes their impressive season with an overall record of 10-1, while the ninth-ranked Cru advance to next Saturday’s game against sixth-rated Linfield.
