More furlough days are scheduled in the Marion County court system as part of a 7.1% cut in the judicial branch. County Clerk of Court Carol Sage says the first of 10 furlough days is Friday, December 4, and will likely mean service delays and backlogs for the state-wide judicial system. That means the state offices on the third and fourth floors of the Marion County courthouse will be closed that day, with the rest of the courthouse open as usual.

Residents using the court system are asked to have patience if they have to wait a little longer to be helped, as the judicial system adjusts to the recent cuts.

Pursuant to the court’s order, all judicial officers and court staff will
take unpaid leave and all court offices will close on the following days:

• Friday, December 4
• Thursday, December 24
• Thursday, December 31
• Friday, January 15
• Monday, February 15
• Friday, March 12
• Friday, March 26
• Friday, April 2
• Friday, May 28
• Friday, June 18
