A single-vehicle accident four miles south of Pella early Sunday morning sent the driver of the vehicle to the hospital. A resident at 1232 228th Avenue reported a vehicle colliding with a retaining wall on their property at approximately 2:44 a.m. Sunday.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for failure to maintain control, after an investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office found that they had failed to stop at a stop sign. Pella Ambulance transported the driver to Pella Regional Health Center and was assisted at the scene by the Pella Rural Fire Department.
