This year’s Knoxville Girls Cross Country Squad over-achieved in many ways. The girls finished runner-up in the Little Hawkeye Conference, they were ranked for part of the season, and finished fourth at the Regional just missing out on the state meet. First year Coach Erin Mikels says the girls did very well and looks forward to next season having nearly everybody back. Nearly everyone returns next season for Knoxville with the exception of two seniors. Jess Fresh was the lead runner until an injury slowed her down late in the season…and Bethany Just who ran mostly junior varsity.
