A resolution approving the first two phases of DNR mandated improvements to Pella’s sanitary sewer system was approved at Monday’s Pella City Council Meeting. The improvements will cost approximately $3.46 million dollars and include an equalization basin and modifications to pump station number two. The first tier of improvements is required to be completed by October of 2012.

In other business, the Council set November 17th as the date for two public hearings on issuing capital loan notes to refinance the city’s existing loans. The refinancing is expected to save the city nearly $184,000.
