The Pella football team has a chance to accomplish history Saturday when they play top ranked, undefeated Harlan for the Class 3A State Championship. Pella has never won a football state championship, meanwhile Harlan is trying to win an unprecedented 12th overall state title in football. The old cliché says to be the best you have to beat the best and Pella coach Jay Mckinstrey says that’s never been more true than now.
Mckinstrey says they certainly wont be intimidated or back down to Harlan just because of their history. He says their focus is solely on completing their journey, playing the best they can and winning a state championship .
