There was a lot of noise but no injuries in a mishap earlier this morning that sent a car crashing through the storefront of the Pella Fareway store. According to Officer Tim Donelson with the Pella Police Department, the driver of the vehicle was pulling into a parking spot when the accelerator stuck – sending the vehicle over the curb and into a window. The accident happened shortly before 10:20 a.m.

Those inside the store said the accident sounded like “an explosion.” The fact that there were no injuries was particularly fortunate, since the vehicle struck a bench on the other side of the window that Officer Donelson says is often used by store patrons. No charges will be filed in the mishap.
