The Knoxville Public Library and the Iowa Commission on Volunteer Service have partnered together to encourage Iowans to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a day of community Service. On January 18th the Knoxville Public Library will accept clean, current date, non-perishable food donations for the local food bank in exchange for fines due. Each non-perishable food item brought into the library between 10 am and 8pm on Monday January 18th will deduct $1.00 off any fines on the patron’s library accounts, with a limit of $50.
