The Pella boys had another down to the wire thriller for the second consecutive night, but this time came up just short 63-61 at Mount Pleasant Saturday. Coach Mark Core said the game mirrored Friday’s game with Oskaloosa in many ways and said Mount Pleasant is a very good team that he can see being a threat in Class 3A this season. Pella trailed 53-42 with 5:30 to play, but came storming back to tie the game at 61 with one minute to play in the game but couldn’t get the final bucket to drop. Matt Dowie had a huge night draining five three ponters and led Pella with 19 points, Blaine Forsythe added 11 as Pella fell to 2-1 on the season. They also are off until Friday.
