The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session this morning. Included in the short agenda was the appointment of several individuals to various state boards and commissions including the Central Iowa Regional Transportation Planning Alliance, or CIRPTA, the conservation board and board of adjustment. According to Jim Kingery, the appointments made today are only a small portion of the positions the committee will appoint. He stated bulk of the appointments will be made at the Board of Supervisor’s organizational meeting at 9:30 am, January 4th. Kingery stated that the reason for splitting up the appointments was because some of the new board members wanted to take over their positions before the end of the year.
