Marion County residents should test their homes’ air-quality for radon and other potentially harmful substances this winter. That’s according to Cory Frank, Environmental Public Health Manager with the Marion County Public Health Department. He says Marion County and surrounding areas have tested higher in the past for radon—a harmful radiological particle both odorless and tasteless. Frank says a limited number of free short-term tests are available, and officials can come out to the residents’ homes and help them set the test up. He says to call 828-2246 for more information on the test kits, radon, and other information.
