Resolutions to refinance loans for the City of Pella were approved at Tuesday night’s Pella City Council meeting. The combination of the refinancing of loans and the early retirement of city-owned debt will save the city nearly $400,000 in interest fees. In other business, the council approved an assessment of the indoor pool be conducted at a cost not to exceed $25,000 with results delivered to the council in six weeks. Included in the assessment will be testing of building materials and systems and recommendations on preliminary cost estimates for repairing the existing facility compared with building a new indoor pool. The Pella council also approved a resolution for a three-year airport land lease agreement with Gary Van Vark in the amount of $45,562; among other issues.
