Vermeer Corporation employees received good news from CEO Mary Andringa and her executive team this morning. After employees return on January 4 from a two-week previously scheduled seasonal break, production hours will increase to a full 40 hour work week. Production support workers will also see their hours increase to the 36 to 40 hour range.

Hours for production workers had been as low as 20 hours per week during the past year. Andringa cautions, however, that economic conditions are unpredictable, and that future adjustments may have to be made. She attributes the need to increase production in the immediate future to increased sales and orders for the Vermeer line.
