Knoxville Mayor-elect Don Zoutte took his oath of office last night during the bi-monthly city council meeting last night at City Hall. Zoutte won the seat in the November election, and will officially take office on January 1st. Outgoing Mayor Harv Sprafka gave a final thank you to all of the council members and departments he’s worked with over the last 4 years, and will continue to serve on multiple committees, including the VA Task Force. Knoxville City Manager also reported to the council that the VA Fire Department has left the campus and the city will respond to all fire calls and alarms, while police chief Dan Losada said they will patrol the grounds as part of his officers’ routes.
