A book that was co-authored by two distinguished educators at Central College was published last month.  Women of the Yucatan:  Thirty Who Dared to Change Their World is the work of business management professor Jann Freed and George Ann Huck, professor emerita of Spanish.  Publication of the book comes eight years after Freed and Huck interviewed 30 women in a patriarchal society in Mexico who chose to challenge the gender inequalities set against them.  The book chronicles the accomplishments and motivations of the women interviewed, as well as obstacles they have confronted.
