The Marion County ISU Extension Office, along with Marion and Mahaska County Farm Bureau, Iowa State Savings Bank and Marion County Bank are sponsoring a workshop on crop marketing in Pella Tuesday afternoon. The program, titled “Tool Time for Pre-Harvest Marketers”, will feature the pros and cons of six different pricing tools for crop marketing.

Iowa Farm Bureau Commodity Services Manager Ed Kordick and ISU Extension Farm Management Specialist Bob Wells will be the featured speakers. The workshop will also feature a simulation game that lets participants “test drive” various marketing tools in a volatile market. The simulation allows users to learn how the marketing tools should be used – without having to risk any money.

The crop marketing workshop will run from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Pella, located at 315 Roosevelt Road on the south side of Pella.
