The Knoxville School District is debating what to do with the old junior high building. The district finished using the building a few years ago and recently turned off heat and water to the building. Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says they know that the property is going to deteriorate rapidly and do not want to take money from other projects to improve a building they are not using. Currently the board is trying to decide whether to attempt to sell the building or pay to demolish it. Demolition could cost the district around $250,000, but they are not sure if there is a market looking to purchase such a building right now. Flack says it is an issue that probably will not get resolved this year, but plans do need to be made as soon as possible.
