The Knoxville School board held a regular meeting Monday evening.  The board discussed various options involving the sale or demolition of the old junior high building, when the district will make up the time used for 5 snow days so far this winter, and options for next year’s academic calendar.  No action was taken on these items.  In addition, Superintendent Dr. Randy Flack says that the district is asking voters to approve the new revenue purpose statement during the April 6th election, so that they are able to use the state tax dollars they receive. The board also accepted the memorandum of understanding for the competitive, statewide, federal grant application “Iowa’s Race to the Top”.  If approved the grant money will help improve the Iowa core curriculum. The next school board meeting is scheduled for Monday January 25.
