The Knoxville boys and girls basketball teams will take on Newton on January 26th. However…everyone has the opportunity to join in the battle against Cancer. That’s the night of the second annual Coaches versus Cancer fundraiser. The night begins with a J-V girl’s game at four-45 followed by the varsity girls and boys contests. Fans are encouraged to purchase a pink “Shooting For A Cure” T-shirts for ten dollars by calling Jim or Angie Uitermarkt at 842-5546.

There will also be a silent auction of over 60 items donated by local businesses and community members. Last year the girls held a Coaches versus Cancer fundraiser and raised over $4,000 in one day. Coach Jim Utiermarkt says all proceeds from T-shirt sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
