The Pella boys look to bounce back after a close, hard fought loss to Norwalk Tuesday night when they host Newton tonight. On paper this is a game that Pella should dominate, just like they did when they man handled the Cardinals at Newton earlier this season 88-48, however Pella Coach Mark Core says things don’t always come as easy the second time around as there’s no suprises: He says Newton will have made adjustments and be ready for Pella’s speed and he says they’ll just have to play the game posession by posession. Core also notes that Newton has the tendancy to try and slow the pace of the game by playing stall ball. He says his guys will have to be intense from the start and get on top early so Newton doesn’t have the oportunity to stall, but at the same time if that doesn’t happen they need to be ready for that. Pella is 7-2 on the season and 6-1 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Newton is 3-7 overall and 2-5 in the LHC but they are coming off a win over South Tama Tuesday. You can hear the boys game live on 92.1 FM KRLS and kniakrls.com with Eric Gotschall and Randy Sikkema following the girls game tonight around 7:45pm.
