A support network of family and friends have rallied around the three Pella families who are trying to get their adopted children out of Port-au-Prince, Haiti; including support from the employer of one of the fathers. Matt Poulter works at Pella Corporation, and tells KNIA/KRLS News in an earlier interview that throughout the lengthy adoption process and in the days following the deadly earthquake, his co-workers and supervisors he has received an outpour of support.
“Pella Corporation has a history of being there for its team members, but I’ll tell you genuinely that I’ve never felt more of a part of a Pella Corporation family than we do right now with the things they’ve done to relieve some stress, take some tension off, people stopping by and helping out just with anything at all; it’s just an absolute privilege and we’re so thankful for that.”
Poulter has made several trips to Haiti as a member of the board of directors for the Central Texas Orphan Mission Alliance (CTOMA) and to see his adopted daughter, Maya.
In a developing story, Matt and his wife Mandy flew to the Dominican Republic on Sunday and have made it to the U.S. Embassy in Haiti to continue the effort to have all nine of the children at the Port-au-Prince orphanage – including the five who have already been adopted – brought to the U.S. to finalize the adoption process.
